That said, with all those new goodies, the good old topic about Cursor pricing is still active, people are still unhappy. But, to be fair, all IDEs and LLMs raise prices or add limitations, in recent months.
Problems with Codex and GPT-5?
GPT-5 has some degradation issues.
GosuCoder tweeted: “I’ve moved back to primarily using Claude Code. GPT5-codex just doesn’t feel the same.”
Dax is summarizing: “now everyone is saying codex sucks and they’re going back to claude code“.
As a result, Tibo from OpenAI shared the report of what they found over seven days. Ian tweeted the “more readable summary” of that report (in short, no single root cause found).

A well-known YouTuber Pat Walls is downgrading his $200/mo Claude Code plan to $20. Now, his current AI coding setup is: Cursor + CC + Codex = $60/month. Actually, the same setup that I’m using!
